Catastrophe! Calamity! A significant setback!

The coffee maker is dead! What are we going to do in the morning???????? WHAT!?!?

It spring a leak in the water reservoir. It was over 8-years old, goodbye old friend! I'd pour one out ... But we don't have a coffee making device right now.

Take a disposable cup, put a hole in it, put the paper filter inside, put some grounds in it, place it over your cup, and pour hot water (a few mins after boiling ) sloo owly onto the grounds. A hipster coffee shop charges $5 to do the same thing in some fancy glassware !

The last time my coffee maker broke, I immediately made two trips.

Trip one, my local gas station with legit gourmet coffee.
Trip two, the nearest 24 hour Target with not shit coffee makers. Where I proceeded to buy three.

When you drink 60oz of the stuff a day, a busted coffee maker is a medical emergency and a homicide in waiting.

I DO NOT HAVE A CAFFEINE PROBLEM UNLESS INSUFFICIENT CAFFEINE IS PROVIDED, MORTAL!

But no, in all seriousness, largely it’s because coffee is convenient, employers provide it free, and I like the taste. The caffeine does nothing to do me and hasn’t for years - not since I went to the hospital thanks to drinking 2 gallons a day.

Also it doesn’t hurt that I keep a steady supply of different brews and flavors. This week I have blueberry cobbler, french vanilla, columbian, Folger’s “Bold,” whatever was on sale at Aldi’s, and my Crazy Cups should be here next week.

This. I have a French press and an aero press if the power is out or I’m car camping. I think I have one of those things that boils it on the stove . Then there’s the electric coffee pot and the Nespresso . And if worse comes to worst I have instant sweetened flavored coffee tins somewhere.

Kind of unrelated, I remember watching a bike touring/race documentary where one of the guys caffeinated himself by dumping coffee grounds into his gas station breakfast pastries. I physically cringe just thinking about it.

a nice Bodum chrome and glass french press is what you need to have for emergency back up. i daily drive mine, but still have a spare visible as kitchen decor.
